Please, note: these are whole grains and whole beans, mixed together following the Biblical Formula in Ezekiel 4:9 and Carol Levergood's recommendations. You will need a Grain Mill to grind these formulas into flour. Our recipe is not a sprouted bread, but you could sprout some of the mix for making sprouted breads. If you are sensitive to Wheat, then you could purchase grains and beans separately, mix your own formulas, excluding Wheat and grind the mixture into flour and make into breads. Our new Family Organic Ezekiel Mix feeds 5 and the Hard Red Organic Wheat has been replaced with Organic Kamut. It is wheat free, but not gluten free! Frequent Wheat Substitutions include: Spelt, Millet, Garbanzo Beans and Lentils. Some people can tolerate Spelt, but not Wheat. Others need to avoid gluten altogether. See, Bread Making Tips. Regular Ezekiel Mix,  Nutritionally Complete Survival Food

Ezekiel Bread Mix, is a blend of 4 grains and 4 beans. Biblical Formula. Food scientists have tested Ezekiel Bread Mix and found it to be surprisingly complete in nutrients lacking only the vitamin provided by sunlight to provide for man’s survival. (See, Ezekiel 4:9). (Sunlight converts cholesterol in the skin into Vitamin D, which is then absorbed into the bloodstream.)  A similar diet sustained the prophet Ezekiel for 390 days. EZB-Reg. is recommended for use in soups, stews, porridge and ground into flour to make hi-protein breads (see, recipe). A Grain Mill is recommended for grinding grains and beans into flour.  The ingredients for EZB-Reg. are whole grains and beans:

Rye Ezekiel Bread Mix, EZB-Rye, Nutritionally Complete Survival Food!

In 1973, Carol Levergood, an intercessor, was impressed by the Lord to go on an Ezekiel Bread Fast for 40 days and to pray for Israel during the fast. She was reading the scriptures and wrote down the grains and beans listed in the Bible. The proportions are not given in scripture, so she asked the Lord for the right proportions. Spelt was all being imported from the Soviet Union so she asked the Lord for an alternate. Rye was the alternate the Lord gave her for Spelt. In addition, the Lord directed her in the proportions of each other grain and bean in the recipe. This Ezekiel Bread Mix made with Rye, EZ-Rye Formula, follows her recipe. She finished the fast the day before the Yom Kippur War broke out in Israel. Israel won the war with minimal losses and Carol Levergood wrote a now out of print book published in 1981, called 'God's Recipe' about her experiences. This formula has been tested by food scientists and is found to be Nutritionally Complete, containing all 8 essential amino acids. The price for this Rye Ezekiel Bread Mix is a bit less than for the Biblical Formula, because the only Spelt we can acquire is certified organic. The proportions for this blend is the same as the one made with Spelt.

You would need a Grain Mill capable of grinding both grains and beans in order to turn this formula into flour for baking breads. Suggested Amounts To Store For One Year: From the Federal Emergency Management Agency Uncooked Dry Goods: (Note: We have added the increased caloric need of Pregnant or Nursing Mothers and the growth spurt of Teenagers to Column A and the caloric need of Youths age 7-13 and Seniors to column B.):

Using these guidelines we believe that pregnant women, & teenagers between the ages of 14 and 18 should be calculated the same as adult males. Youths between 7 and 13 calculated as adult females and children 6 or under at the small children rate. Seniors can manage at the adult female rate Column B. So:

Adult males, pregnant females, nursing mothers and active teenage boys age 14-18 need 1 bucket per month or 12 Buckets/year.

 Adult females, most teen age girls, youths between 7 and 13 and Seniors need .825 bucket per month each or 9 buckets/year.

 Small children 6 or under need 1/3 bucket per month or 4 buckets/year.

To make bread, you would also want: pure drinking water, oils, salt, baking powder, dry yeast and sweeteners (sugar, brown sugar, honey, etc.) To meet the guidelines above you must add sweeteners and salt as noted. Oils and fats add calories and make cooking more appealing, but they do not store well over time. It is recommended that you will need a minimum of 5 gallons of oil per year per family. Cold pressed oils are highly recommended.

 This is a no frills, life sustaining, nutritious mixture of whole grains and whole beans for the budget conscious individual. This can be ground into flour with a manual grain mill or electric mill.  (We recommend the Family Grain Mill the #2 Manual Mill or the K-Tec Electric Kitchen Mill, because they will process both grains and beans.) and a supply of pure water, and an alternative heat or cooking source EZB-mix can be prepared into life sustaining hi-protein bread.
