A Plethora of Misinformation exists about Distilled Water – most of which is falsely perpetrated by individuals and companies who manufacture or sell Water Filtration Products and Reverse Osmosis (RO) who find it hard to compete against Steam Water Distillation. 


WHAT IS STEAM WATER DISTILLATION? 

STEAM DISTILLATION is the Single-Most effective method of Water PURIFICATION. 
STEAM DISTILLATION is the simple process of Removing WATER (Steam) from Contaminants -- versus the unnecessarily complicated and ineffective methods of Chemical Treatment, Reverse Osmosis (RO) and Other Types of Filtration to Remove CONTAMINANTS from Water.

HOW IS DISTILLED WATER PRODUCED? 

Simply Boil ANY Source of Raw Contaminated Water and Capture the Escaping Steam Vapor -- which is Pure Distilled Water – leaving behind all the Dead Biological Organisms, Other Contaminants and Pollutants including Salt in the Distiller Boiling Tank. 

In doing so, we are merely duplicating Nature’s Distillation Process – the Hydrologic Cycle – where Steam Vapor rises from the earth’s oceans, lakes and streams into the atmosphere, cooling and condensing into Supposedly Pure Water that falls back to the earth’s surface as Rain, Snow, Sleet and Hail – but, in reality, actually becomes contaminated by Manmade Pollution in the Atmosphere. 

Distilled Water is 100% Pure Water consisting only of Hydrogen & Oxygen and NOTHING ELSE – with a TOTAL ABSENCE of any other ingredients or contaminants. 
Distilled Water has:

Distilled Water has a lower PH factor, wouldn't that be harmful?

The following is from Eldon Muehling, a chemist and physicist who works for Pure Water Inc, the manufacture of your Electric Steam Water Distiller:

Distilled Water has virtually nothing in it -- with only 1-2 Parts Per Million [PPM] of contaminants. This means there is virtually nothing in distilled water to buffer (raise or lower pH).

Therefore the pH of distilled water is a pretty meaningless figure. When distilled water is first formed it generally has a pH very close to 7.0. However, as carbon dioxide from the air settles into it, the carbon dioxide will dissolve and react to form a very, very weak carbonic acid. 

By heating the water, the carbon dioxide is driven out and the pH will again temporarily come back to 7.0 -- but, as soon as it cools down again, the pH will drop -- depending on how much carbon dioxide it re-dissolves, but never below 5.5 which is the upper limit at atmospheric pressure for carbon dioxide to dissolve.

When one is distilling water that is very high in bicarbonates there is a higher concentration of carbon dioxide from the decompostion of the bicarbonate into carbon dioxide and carbonate. In this case the pH will go to 5.5 almost immediately.

Having a pH slightly below 7.0 is not necessarily a bad thing -- it certainly tastes better. 

The main benefit however is that it retards bacterial invasion, since bacteria do not favor a pH below 7.0. The only precaution is that distilled water should not be stored or plumbed through light metals such as aluminum or copper.

Distilled Water Myths

MYTH #1: 

The First Falsehood that abounds is that since there is nothing at all in Pure Distilled Water, we are robbing ourselves of the Essential Minerals that our bodies need to remain healthy. 

The Fact of the Matter is that we get our Essential Minerals FROM THE FOOD WE EAT – NOT FROM THE WATER WE DRINK! 

The minerals in water are Inorganic Solid Minerals that cannot be assimilated by the human body, but must be eliminated as an Unusable Foreign Substance -- or remain behind to pollute, clog up and turn to stone in every part of our body, causing stiffness in the joints, hardening of the arteries, kidney stones, gall stones, occlusions (blockage) of arteries, microscopic capillaries and other passages in which liquids flow through our entire body. 

At this point, a clear understanding of the difference between Inorganic and Organic Minerals must be established. 

As water flows over the land surface and through the ground it collects Inorganic [Non-Living] Minerals from the soil and rock through which it comes into contact. 

Inorganic Minerals ARE NOT minerals that humans or animals can assimilate in their bodies. 

Only plants have the unique ability to transform Solid Inert Inorganic Minerals from the ground into Vital Soluble Living Organic Minerals that we receive from Vegetables, Fruit, Grain, Nuts and Other Plant Life that the body can assimilate as nourishment. 

In summation, since our bodies cannot absorb Inorganic Minerals, we cannot benefit from Inorganic Minerals in water -- any more than we can by eating rocks and dirt! 

Instead, we must allow our Food Plants to draw these Inorganic Minerals through their roots from the soil and transform them through Photosynthesis into Soluble Organic Minerals that our bodies need for nourishment. 

In the course of an average lifetime, if -- instead of Distilled Water -- you drink City Tap Water, Well Water, Mineral Water or Spring Water, your body will ingest 450 pounds of Inorganic Materials -- with Zero (0) Nutritional Benefit and incalculable detrimental effect to the human body in trying to dispose of 450 pounds of Solid Waste! 

MYTH #2: 

The Second Falsehood that abounds is that since there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in Distilled Water [except Pure H2O] -- and since Distilled Water leaches the maximum amount of any substance into solution, Distilled Water supposedly draws calcium out of our bones and causes rapid loss of electrolytes [Sodium, Potassium, Chloride] and Trace Minerals from our bodies. 

This belief is absolutely false! 

In his book, "Water Can Undermine Your Health", Dr. Norman W. Walker offers a good account of what hard water – and its impurities – do in our body…. 

Water containing nothing but Hydrogen & Oxygen [H2O] is Pure Water -- and this is the only kind of water the blood and the lymph can use in their work. 

Distilled Water helps to cleanse Inorganic Mineral Deposits from the body -- but you do not have to be concerned about Distilled Water leaching away Organic Minerals that your body can utilize. 

Explaining this distinction, Dr. Walker notes that Living Organic Minerals are absorbed into the cell wall for nutrition. He writes, "It is virtually impossible for Distilled Water to separate minerals which have become an integral part of the cells and the tissues of the body. 

Distilled Water collects only the minerals discarded from the cells -- the minerals which the natural water originally collected from its contact with the earth and the rocks. Such minerals, having been rejected by the cells of the body, are of no constructive value." 

If such Inorganic Minerals are not eliminated as Body Waste, they remain behind and literally begin turning our bodies into stone.
